Project NEURO

Spazuk draws a brain with the flame of the candle while his own brain is itself designed by magnetoencephalography (MEG). Curious to find out what parts of the brain are active when it works, the artist suggested that experience to Dr. Sylvain Baillet of NEURO in Montreal.

They played along and captured brain activity Spazuk during the creation of this work. The result is a reading of the brain of the artist, with shades of color and movement. Hugh John Murray and Adrien Duey both participated in documenting the creative process of this work that blends science and art.
